The RAA President heads the Presidium of the RAA and is responsible for the activity of the RAA, its divisions and entities  in all aspects of the RAA activity.

The RAA President represents the RAA in federal authorities,  appoints and releases from duties  heads of the RAA structural divisions and entities.

The RAA President shall be elected from the RAA Full Members (Academicians)   for a five-year term by the majority of votes of the RAA Full Members participated in the voting.  

Since 1997 to the present day the RAA has been headed by Zurab K.  Tsereteli.
